Collaboration with Reed & Radar for 160grams

A little while back I posted up sketches of some "erotic flowers" that I was animating for a collaboration with Reed & Radar, a photographer/artist/fashion duo living in Brooklyn. Basically i was responsible for creating the flowers without previous knowledge of what the photographs were going to look like. So with my sketches in mind, they art directed the photoshoot.

I really loved the outcome, I think they edited the photos beautifully and the makeup/clothing is amazing! This is only an online magazine - so check it out HERE.

SPACE HELL

I was recently asked to contribute a piece to a themed show called SPACE HELL that is going to be at the L'Keg Gallery in Los Angeles. Although I've done space-related artwork for my dad before (an aerospace engineer) - I never really did space fantasy art, so I was pretty excited to give it a try. In the end I came up with a robo/mayan/alien from hell. Perhaps not a typical space fantasy piece...but what can I say?

In other news, mine and Ahu Sulker's newspaper EGG ON BREAD is almost near completion and hopefully will be sent off to the printers within a week. Thank you again to all of you who contributed and made this possible! I don't think you will be dissapointed with the outcome. I will make copies available via my online store once I receive them, so keep your eyes posted.

Serial Mom Fan Art

On a friend's recommendation I recently watched Serial Mom (a John Waters film) and absolutely loved it. Genius and hilarious.
Definitely rent it if you haven't seen it yet. I never usually do this - but I couldn't resist making a little fan art :)

Old Life Drawing Drawings

So I was looking through some of my older work from college and rediscovered my old life drawings. It made me realize how much I miss drawing from a nude model! Nothing teaches you more about drawing than drawing from life....and I miss it so much! So please anyone who is reading this and is living in the NYC area - if you know of good but cheap life drawing classes in NYC, let me know! I need to do more of this.

The top ink drawing is actually a master copy - not a life drawing (you probably could figure that out), but just thought I'd clarify :)

WFMU Record + Studio Pics

So, I posted this job a while back, but I finally got the finished product in the mail a couple days ago!! I'm very satisfied with how it printed. Not to mention listening to this record is so much fun - its a collection of "locked grooves," which are sound clips that repeat on themselves after a couple seconds. I definitely recommend this to anyone with a record player.

Also, I thought I'd show two pictures of my studio. It looks like a mess but its an organized mess! I like having a million things going on (as you can clearly tell).
