This piece was for a book by Gary Shteyngart - "Super Sad True Love Story" - a quirky novel about a balding 39 year old man of Russian immigrants who struggles to keep up with technology, health, and youth obsessed culture of a rapidly dying world. A portion of this was featured in The New Yorker's annual fiction issue - I really recommend reading it!

Why?
Why must I leave for vacation? Why must the sun continue to burn and burn until it burns itself into oblivion? Why do the tides change with each passing day? Why does God Almighty fight the urge to smite every sinner upon this Mother Earth?
I will leave you with these questions, and return from my trip quite shortly.

ELECTRIC!
Abstract geometric design that is meant to wrap around public electrical boxes (those ugly grey rectangles you see at the sides of roads and sidewalks). I wanted to convey the electricity hidden underneath that grey metallic exterior and also create something cheerful and colorful that would make people happy in the winter times and even happier during the summer!
